Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC)

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum 13 years of age (on the day of final assessment)
    Participants aged over 14 years old are required to enrol in the Bronze Medallion unless an exemption from the Chair of Education is approved.

  • Financial member of the Surf Life Saving Club

  • Complete 200m flat water swim in less than 5 minutes (signed off by an authorised member)

Fees:

$155 for non-members*

NCSLSC Cadets are eligible for a discounted price of $55 for a limited time. Contact the Office for further details.

Course Dates:

SRC Intensive Course #1: 24 September - 28 September 2024

SRC Intensive Course #2: 16 December - 20 December 2024

  • A five day course typically from 9:00 to 14:30 Mon-Thu with assessment 9:00 to 12:00 Fri.


Prelearning

SLSA eLearning modules (approx 3 hours) must be completed before/during the course. It is beneficial to undertake as much of the content prior to the beginning of the course as possible.

Assessment

Assessment is through demonstration, presentation and application of all elements of competency in the work-place. Participants will be required to complete activities that may include role-plays, oral and written questioning, practical demonstrations and performing scenarios.
